Bob Pallansch and Jim Altendahl have been best friends since they were kids growing up in Melrose Minnesota back in the 60’s and 70’s. In the 7th grade, they formed The Solid Silver Band and played the central Minnesota area throughout high school and college.
Fast forward 30 years. Still best friends and with a variety of musical experiences behind them, Bob and Jim are playing together again in The Cedar Creek Band. With Bob’s wife, Claudia, providing vocals, and featuring Jim’s daughter, Claire, on guitar, the group is bringing their easy-listening sound and eclectic song catalog to parties, events, and venues.
Claudia Pallansch (vocals and guitar).
Claudia’s rich alto voice is perfect for the jazz, blues, and country songs she sings, and she has performed in a variety of vocal groups including Couple of Couples, Snow Birds, and The Cedar Creek Band.
Jim Altendahl (vocals and guitar).
Jim has a very relaxed male vocal style that is suited well to the intimate nature of the singer/songwriter music he performs.
Jim accents the acoustic guitar accompaniments with a variety of finger picking, lead, and rhythm playing styles.
Jim has been performing as a singer and lead guitarist since the mid 1970’s in bands such as: “Epic”, “4th Gear”, “The Solid Silver Band”, “The Amber Skies Band” and now “The Cedar Creek Band”.
Claire Altendahl (lead guitar)
Claire developed her chops early through the Twin Cities School of Rock program where her auditions twice earned her the honor of representing the School of Rock on their All Star Tour, performing at Lollapalooza, House of Blues, and Rib Fest in Chicago; Summerfest in Milwaukee, and Vans Warped Tour in Cleveland.
For five years, Claire studied jazz under acclaimed Minneapolis-based guitarist, Joan Griffith.
Claire is currently attending the Berklee College of Music, and while in Boston, Claire and her co-songwriter India Shore form a duo called "The Blue" who perform though out the Boston and New York area.
Claire has been featured on radio programs such as KBEM Jazz 88's "Talking about jazz with Claire Altendahl" and the "Birn Alive" program on Boston's "The BIRN" radio.
Bob Pallansch (bass guitar)
With his stand-up bass, Bob lays down the foundation of the rhythm section with a deep, full bass sound.
Bob has been performing since the mid 1970’s in bands such as Epic, 4th Gear, The Solid Silver Band, the jazz band One for Daddy-O, Couple of Couples, and The Cedar Creek Band.
